The historic, 200 year old Banana port of Golfito, with its beautiful gin clear waters of the Pacific at it’s door step, produces unbelievable catches of
Sailfish, Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo and both Blue and black marlin to a 1000lbs. It is not uncommon to raise more than 20 billfish in a day. And, this prime fishing is only minutes from where our boat is docked!

"Rosa Maria"| are truly the perfect boats for all your needs. We can fish in the shallows of the bay to the deep of the Pacific Ocean. Both are manufactured in Florida with many extra options. They are powered by twin inboards and are proven offshore fisherman. Our boats can carry up to 4 passengers and 2 crew members.
The
"Thums Up" and the
"Rosa Maria" are outfitted with the latest in Furuno electronics; IGFA approved Shimano fishing tackle, Lee outriggers, cockpit live well, downrigger system and tuna tubes. We fish primarily live bait, but we do carry an assortment of Black Bart, Bob Schneider, Marlin Magic and Moldcraft lures! The fishing is generally bait and switch. We can accommodate what ever style you wish. We especially like to cater to the fly fisherman! But we ask, that fly fisherman and world record seekers bring your own gear with you!
Our crews speak english and are locally trained and have work for several of the local lodges and top charter boats in the Golfito area. Together with the mate, they will make sure that your day of fishing is a safe and enjoyable one!

Sailfish - Costa Rica offers some of the best sailfishing in the world with as many as 50 shots per day and fish weighing up to 150 pounds! These calm waters will also offer novice anglers a great opportunity to try Fly-Fishing for sails. Prime season runs from December to May with fish present all year long.
Marlin - Costa Rica is one of the top five destinations for marlin fishing on the plant. Fish can exceed a 1,000 pounds, but most average around 300. In the late summer months anglers have seen up to 10 fish in a day! Peak season is June to October with fish present all year.
Tuna - Yellowfin are the most common tuna with some real record breakers. The average size is around 30-60 pounds, but fish over 300 pounds have been caught on live bait! The giant yellowfin show up in September to November, and their smaller brothers are present all year round.
Dolphin / Wahoo - These beautiful jumpers and speedsters are abundant! Available in various sizes, fish over 50 pounds are always possible. The best fishing is best in the rainy months from June to November.
Roosterfish - With more world records caught here than anywhere else, Costa Rica is simply the worlds best! Roosterfish can reach 90 pounds and larger ones have been seen cruising the beaches! The fishing is great all year, but July to November is considered their peak season.
Other fish that are abundant here include
Pargo, Snapper, Snook (some of which have been caught by fisherman up to 50lbs.)
Barracuda, Amberjack and other members of the Jack family are present year round and offer great fishing opportunities inshore!
