My name is Michael Wagner, born on south-west Germany's countryside somewhere little bit after mid-last century, fishing the local waters offshore Punta Cana much over a decade now, still looking for a bigger one day by day.
The so named Sportfishing in Punta Cana started in the early 90's, while most of todays known Hotel Resorts not even been planned, in small Fiberglass Center Console open Fisherman boats, 2x 60HP Yamaha outboards on a 24ft vessel been a really big deal that time. Our first one, a Maco Americano 24ft'er named Bolero, is holding til today our area's Blue Marlin record caught in Non-Tournament Deep Sea Fishing, a 515lbs female bringing an over 6hrs fight on tackle you won't want to use on a Big Game Fishing Charter of Today's. That time we fished to get fish for the kitchen at home, taking visitors with us been a "financial bycatch" to pay the gas, of course there was no practice of catch & release, than bigger the fish than better for the 'Pueblo'.
Receiving immense changes by the so called modern world, Punta Cana is today one of the biggest Destinations for Travellers worldwide, we never changed the fact that our local waters are free of any commercial/longlining fishing, so we never did that worldwide so modern mistake to destroy first and cry afterwards for laws. Right on time before the 2008 Billfish Season starts new Charter boats will be added to the operating Fleet. The Fleet includes the 29ft open Sportfisherman with twin-outboards for the light tackle/reef/flats action and sportfishing yachts sized 35-48ft, equipped with Penn and Shimano Sportfishing Gear, Fishfinder, GPS, VHF, emergency phones and our Luxury Yachts for a cruise off Punta Cana's coastline or around our beautiful Island on our Searay 63ft or our 94ft Luxury Cruiser. Of course all Fishing Charters run by Mike are guided by english spoken Captains, all professional lifetime Sportfishermen for our local waters out of Punta Cana.
