Puerto Aventuras, Mexico

Puerto Aventuras is an exclusive resort on the Mexican Caribbean Coast known as the Maya Riviera, 45 miles (72 kms) south of Cancun. This private and gated community is built around an impressive marina, home to dozens of luxury yachts, sport fishing boats and sailboats of all types.

It includes luxury condos and hotels, a golf course, tennis courts and numerous shops. There are also excellent Scuba Diving organizations where you can explore the superb reefs right outside the Marina as well as participate in PADI, NAUI and IANTD training. You can explore pristine caletas in a kayak, work up a sweat in the open-air gyms, have a massage, swim with the dolphins or simply relax.

Puerto Aventuras is nestled in a land that is a world unto itself. All the magic of the ancients and the conveniences of the modern age are alive here. Explore the mysteries of the Mayas, swim among a kaleidoscope of tropical fish, walk through the verdant jungle and of course FISH!. Spend your days floating lazily, sailing, snorkeling, shopping, sunning or just snoozing the day away.

Most people's idea of a perfect vacation includes fishing in crystal clear turquoise water, swaying palm trees, a beautiful beach and maybe a margarita. Puerto Aventuras offers all this and more. Imagine walking along our beautiful beach as the warm sand gently massages your feet and tiny fish dart across your path. Afterwards, you stroll over to the marina to dine alfresco under a canopy of bright stars. Later linger over coffee, or go for a moonlit dip. In the morning enjoy a cup of coffee on your private terrace and contemplate what, if anything you will do that day.

P.A. is close. It is within 15 minutes of Playa del Carmen, Xcaret, Xpu Ha and Akumal. It is within 30 minutes of XeI-Ha, Tulum, Sian Kaan and several cenotes. We are within 1 hour of Cancun, Cozumel, Coba and 3.5 hours from Chichen Itza, Izamal, Valladolid and Bacalar.

Types of Fishing Charters

Trolling - This is what we are famous for- sailfish, more sailfish, MUCHO SAILFISH! Add marlin, wahoo and dorado and it makes a perfect fishing area. World wide recognized as the top sailfish and white marlin area from March through July. Featured on ESPN Extreme Fishing, Outdoor channel and most American and European fishing magazines.

All fishing done trolling dead baits (its against the law to use live bait) using 20 to 30 lb. standup Shimano TLD or Penn International gear Some boats also have a fighting chair. Our bait of choice are small to medium ballyhoo rigged to skip or swim. At times we will add a strip bait (bonito or Dorado) or mullet.

Bottom Fishing - Enjoy a few hours in the beautiful Caribbean drift fishing for dinner. We will take you on one of our boats to some of our most productive reefs. Catch grouper, Yellowtail, Mutton, Grey, and Cubera Snapper - all excellent fighters and superb food fish.

On a beautiful calm day there is nothing more relaxing and fun (especially for kids) than drift fishing for dinner in the beautiful Caribbean waters. Sometimes when the bite is really good you will see the fish schooling under and around the boat and the kids get a big kick out of catching and feeding the reef fish.

Your crew will fillet your catch. You can then take it to any one of Puerto Aventuras' 12 restaurants to have it fried, grilled, or sautéed in garlic butter as you like.

Shared Fishing - Your Shared trips: $87/person per half day - max. 5 anglers per 31' boat

Fly Fishing - Just to the south are some of the best flyfishing in the Caribbean! Two of our Captains are experts at flyfishing so you will definitely have a good time. Remember to provide your own gear. Of course, all billfish are released.

Combination Fishing - Troll, bottom fish, snorkel, explore virgin beaches - you plan your trip. On a half day you can combine two activities, on a full day you may combine all options. Troll to a beach, eat lunch and snorkel for a couple of hours then troll and bottom fish to catch the late sailfish bite.

You have just fished world best fishing grounds, snorkeled in some of the best reefs in the world. Troll towards Tulum ruins and see them from the water. Then troll to Aak chico where you set anchor. Aak Chico is actually two beaches with a small ruin in between it is a great place to snorkel and explore.

Pleasure Cruising - Explore the beautiful beaches along the Yucatan Coast accessible only by boat. Every beach and cove is unique, we will tell you about them, then you pick the destination. Picnic on miles of desolate white powder beaches; or the twin coves with a Mayan ruin in the middle; or maybe we can interest you in a snorkel trip.
