Epoxy
SilverTip Laminating Resin is designed specifically for laminating. It is a med-low viscosity, liquid epoxy system that has been optimized for coating and reinforcing fabric saturation in wood-composite boatbuilding. Fast wet-out, no blush, and cures to a brilliant, colorless finish. Working time is longer than most boat building epoxies, without sacrificing cure time. Cured film is tough and resilient with better heat resistance than other room temperature cured epoxies. SilverTip kit includes 1 gallon of laminating resin, 1/2 gallon of either fast or slow hardener and a set of calibrated plungers for dispensing.
Don's House Brand Epoxy (Cycloaliphatic "Non Blushing" Epoxy) - Our house brand is ideal for many functions - boat and aircraft building, general fiberglass and carbon fiber laminating. Great for building a "Stitch and Glue" boat, Cedar strip kayak or canoe as well as for cold molded wood boat or fiberglass boats. And automotive enthusiasts use it for laminating carbon fiber parts including hoods, dashes, etc. It has several advantages over general epoxies: Resistance to amine blush, Better sunlight and UV resistance, Usable damp and high humidity, Excellent gloss, Excellent chemical resistance, Cures well even at low temperatures and less need for sanding between coats.
Q. Why is your epoxy so cheap?
A. My overhead is low. I buy epoxy resins and hardeners from manufacturers such as ShellOil , Dow Chemical, and Vantico (formerly Ciba-Geigy). I buy in drums and repackage into smaller containers. I don't spend a lot on marketing; I don't have the cans silk-screened, and I don't have (expensive) distributors.
System Three - This is the workhorse of the System Three resins stable fitting well into over 90% of all epoxy applications. It is a solvent-free unfilled medium-modulus epoxy system. The resin is formulated for use with any of three hardeners. System Three General Purpose Epoxy resin has excellent pot life and cure-time control. Mixes at a 2:1 ratio.
Used for:
* new wood construction and repair
* gel coat blister repair
* general fiberglass boat repair
* coating and fiberglass work
* Combine with different fillers to make excellent adhesive, filleting and fairing compounds.
West System - 105 Resin is the base material of the WEST SYSTEM family of products, on which all of the WEST SYSTEM compounds are built. The resin is a clear, pale yellow, low-viscosity liquid epoxy resin. Formulated for use with WEST SYSTEM hardeners, it can be cured in a wide temperature range to form a high-strength solid with excellent moisture resistance. It is designed specifically to wet out and bond with wood fiber, fiberglass, reinforcing fabrics and a variety of metals. An excellent adhesive, 105 will bridge gaps and fill voids when modified with WEST SYSTEM fillers and can be sanded and shaped when cured. Mixing is 5 to 1
Fiberglass
Fiberglass is the most common composite reinforcement. It is available in a variety of weights, type and sizes. Tape is used for seams, tabbing, in all stitch and glue projects.

King Starboard - Durable, low maintenance, is UV stabilized for harsh conditions. Use for outfiting boats with matching cabinets, compartments, & cutting boards. King Starboard is the original marine-grade polymer and the industry standard. It is the product of a proprietary process called K-Stran, the most advanced manufacturing process available for producing consistently flat continuous sheets. King StarBoard is environmentally stabilized to withstand the harshest marine conditions. It will not rot or discolor like teak and other solid woods, and it will not delaminate like wood laminates. King StarBoard is easy to work with using standard woodworking tools, and design changes are a snap. In addition, the installed cost of King StarBoard is less than teak, other common marine woods, and fiberglass. Plus, our large sheet sizes maximize your yield. Boat buyers appreciate King StarBoard's low-maintenance finish. Repair and refinishing due to weathering and decay are eliminated, and cleaning is easy. King StarBoard has a handsome matte finish on both sides to hide scuffs and scratches that would show on glossy textured sheets or acrylics.
Epoxy Fillers - Micro-Balloons, silica, woodflour graphite and more.
Quickfair is 100% compatible with our resins and very easy to sand. It is 2 parts premixed with the fillers. Mixing: 1 Part thichened resin and 1/2 part thickened hardener. It is easy to apply with a wide putty knife.
Buoyancy foam - Common Applications: Our 2LB density marine foam is recommended for void filling in nonstructural applications. This product can be poured underneath decks and inside cavities where a lightweight flotation foam is needed to provide buoyancy. This foam has been tested in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard Regulation # 33 CFR 183.114 . This foam is approximately 95-98% closed cell which resists absorbing water, however continuous water submersion can eventually lead to loss of buoyancy over a period of years. We recommend this product strictly for flotation applications.
