Hello, I'm Dave French, Captain of the Payback. I have fished the waters off Bodega Bay for 20 years. The Payback's capacity is only six fishermen, so the atmosphere is always friendly and relaxed, and the fishing great, because this boat could well be California's finest sportfishing machine. The Payback's number one asset is her speed (almost 30 knots cruising), which allows me the versatility to change plans during the course of the day. This boat will run as far south as Duxbury Reef in as little as an hour and fifteen minutes.
The Payback has a 32 ft. fiberglass hull and was custom designed and built for Northern California sea conditions. She is powered by twin diesel Volvos and dual props. Equipment includes a livewell, crab trap hoist, full electronics, and a Furuno Site Seeker (directional forward looking fish finder we use while trolling). This boat has what it takes to get the job done!
