This 26 Albemarle center console has been lovingly maintained, but seen very light use, the owner's change in plans must see this boat sold. The 262 is a true offshore performer, heavily built by Albemarle with a 24 degree deadrise and her dry Carolina bow flair. A smart design in using their jackshaft system, the 262 has the reliability of inboard power (Merc 7.4MPI 310hp), yet maintains fuel economy that is almost twice as efficient than outboards on comparable sized boats. Mercruiser exhaust recall was performed under warranty, as preventative maintenance, March, 2002. This boat also comes with a host of new goodies: a large, two year old dockbox and all the contents; dock lines, scrub brushes & waxes, type III offshore vests, kid's vests, Coast guard kit and new flares, tool kit, etc...
The Carolina style deep-v (24 degree), combined with the weight of her heavy hull and low center of gravity (because the motor is in the center of the boat) makes for a great ride. Offshore or in the bay's short chop, the 262 is dry, stable, tracks well (counter rotating BravoIII drive helps here) and is very forgiving and predictable in crazed seas. With the 310hp Merc, she's not super fast, but will happily plug along at a respectable 25 knots while maintaining very good fuel effeciency.
