"First Mates" was factory built to order by her current owners. As previous owners of several boats, (including an Ocean 40 before this boat) great care was taken throughout the building process to request changes where the owners felt they could enhance an already great design. To suit their needs, a tight nap carpet was requested, a Channel back settee in lieu of the standard, as well as Amtico flooring throughout the salon entry, galley and heads. As a custom install, the factory trimmed the dinette sole in Amtico as well. Gutter tracks of the cockpit deck hatches have been plumbed overboard. The master head has custom fiberglass tiles surrounding the shower, unique to this boat. A custom plexiglass flybridge ladder hatch was fabricated for safety, wind and noise are diminished by this hatch as well. The helm pod's instruments were laid out specifically to keep the navigation aid of gps color plotting front and center. As a result, these owners were pleased to take delivery of a beautiful 50SS with exceptional fit and finish.
