If the Blackfin 31 Combi has a different look than previous Combi models, it's because she's a remake of the earlier North Coast 31 , a highly regarded deep-V fisherman from Massachusetts. In developing the 31 Combi, Blackfin engineers replaced the original strickly-fishing North Coast floorplan w/a new dinette layout which is more open and suitable for family cruising. Lounge seating was also added opposite the helm. The result is a family-friendly offshore fisherman with civilized, almost upscale, cruising accommodations-a rarity in a serous fishboat. In 1995 Blackfin revised the layout w/a larger head compartment, a portside dinette, and a convertible dinette forward. Additional features of the 31 Combi include unusuallly wide sidedecks, hydraulically operated engine room hatch, a well-designed helm console, cockpit storage boxes, and transom door. 300-hp Cat Diesels will cruise at 25-26 knots and reach top speed of approx. 30 knots.
