You're Invited: RFA-FLorida Open House, Weds. 3-05-08
Wednesday March 5th, 7pm at the Riviera Beach Maritime Academy, 251 W. 11th Street, Riviera Beach
The Recreational Fishing Alliance invites Florida anglers to join RFA in formally launching the Florida state chapter of the RFA (RFA-FLA) and to get involved with the RFA to create a strong political presence in our state.
Jim Donofrio, RFA Executive Director, will explain why the future of our recreational fisheries is dependent on fixing the Magnuson-Stevens Act (MSA), fixing our federal fisheries laws, and how anglers can become part of the process. Ron Coddington, the recreational representative on NMFS Highly Migratory Species Advisory Panel (HMS AP), will give an update on swordfish management and the recent NMFS decision to allow longliner vessels in the closed areas off the Florida coast.
As an effective grassroots organization, the RFA plays a key role in securing recreational fishermen's rights through successfully lobbying state & federal lawmakers and regulators.
Hope to see you there tomorrow night!
