Rigged the EB in Kona with Bart in 04,

with Bart Miller and Norm Isaacs on board the Huntress, (the old Black Bart)careful what kind of hookset you use, the semi-stiff single hook ones that bart had, the EB swam two seperate hooks off the cable before we changed it to just a teaser. Then, a 650 tried to eat it and then fell back and piled on a Braziliano, which Bart's son Derrick caught. I have one as well that has it's fair share of stitches... as for my favorite, purple black 1656

Guys, guys, guys, you are disappointing me! The Bart Rum Cay candy has been the number one slayer year after year for me. It absolutely never leaves the water. Purple hologram skirt over black. If we go out and the rum cay doesn't come through, then it has been a bad day! We've caught blues, whites, wahoo, tuna, dolphin on it. It gets beat up out there.

ps. this is true for the northern GOM

I have done very well in the East Cape of baja on blues and large stripes with many different Bart's. This year I had a 1656 Angle put together in the "Laker Girl" pattern with a gold head, and purple over gold skirt. It worked very well and is definately on my "A" team. The second for all gamefish was a Super Pro Jet with a lumo green skirt over pink rainbow. How do you guys do with the Grander Candy? I think this is the next big bait for the collection.

I have a Bart that is probably from the late 80s that is the twin to the prototype with the grass skirt. Only difference is ours has an orange/black skirt. Have pulled the lure a few times in Canyons off of Jersey and did have it inhaled by a large blue that pulled the hook. I have not pulled it in a long time but my brother always begs me to put it out
