I have a question about the 6 lb test. When i was in Costa Rica several years ago we took a layday and did a canopy tour. There was a Capt there from Fl. who helped a lady angler catch a record marlin on 6 lb. Said the fight only took 90 seconds. They teased the fish right up to the back of the boat and she pitched the bait hooked the fish and he basically backed the fish thru the tuna door. Just don't see how something like that can qualify for a record.

I have seen some cheap way that people record fish. I guess its legal but takes some of the fun out of it for sure... I've seen guys who have leader tethered like a tag line but with so much umph that it doesent even break away.
IGFA rule 13 I believe says, thou shalt not tie off the leared to the boat for the purpose of holding or lifting the fish. So they instead clip it to a line that is clipped to the boat...

In this case we gave hard chase but no 90 second miracle thing though. Covered a lot of miles and my gps track looked like a kids scribble painting... We added a second ram to the steering late last season but not a second head... I get to turn the wheel twice as many times to achieve the same thing... Nine turns full port to full starboard...
