Im looking for some advice on yellowfin in the bahamas. I allways see them bustin the surface but i just cant get em to bite. Whats the best tactic for targeting them there? Trolling? Chunking? or live bait?
any advice will be greatly appreciated

40-60lb leader...circle hooks...live bait (pilchards and/or goggle eyes)
Pull up in front of the school...shut the engines off and free line the live bait...hold on....your only nemesis will be sharks.
For artificials...try a small trolling feather WWB in your spread
good luck
pull up in front of them and throw out handfuls of pilchards and drop over a chum bag and shake it like crazy. Live line a pilchard on a circle hook and hold on. When you hook up with the first one drop over a jiggin rod and jig while the first one is on and you will hook up again.
wind em fast, you'll be windin in alot of heads only!!!
i would bet your seeing blackfin tuna, small feathers, live pilchards
go with a yozuri flying fish on a kite
We have tried various methods and live bait is tough in our neck of the woods. We have found 2 methods that work best for us. A daisy chain cedar plug with 2 blue and whites followed by a natural works great. The other method that has been working great the past 2 years is a 2 lb trolling weight with 20 ft shock leader followed with 130 mono with an islander and ballyhoo. This rig eliminates all the small yellowfin and blackfin and usually wind up with a fish over 40. Dont be afraid to hide some wire in the crimp in case you get a hoo bite. Hope this helps.
