Yellowfin in MHC

Hey I was wondering when the yellowfin bite is good out of MHC between Nov.-April.... I know there is a good spring bite but are they around in December???

Hey Capt. D how ya doin?? The season was great... Had nice yellows up here this year up to 125 lbs plenty of 80lbers. 10 20plus fish nites...

Yes I am heading down this winter I will be in Beaufort Dec-April... I'm running a 52.. Plan on killing some fish and having some fun...

How bout you this season????

Hi captain Mike. Not much YFT fishing in December out of Morehead. Everyone is after the GBFT. There should be some YFT around, but they show up good in February usually. Plenty of wahoos in winter. Some blackfins.
The Hatteras fleet just to the north often catches YFT all winter long.

Dude, my season has been virtually no existent! Had a handful of really good trips in May, June and first part of July, but haven't been offshore since. Lots of personally stuff hitting the fan and busy chasing a 16 month old around has really put a damper on my side work and fun! I totally missed out on that awesome marlin bite in late august due to a family vacation and I heard that you all held our YFT all summer up there in the northern canyons.

oh well there is allways next year or summer of 2024 whe he heads to college!!!
