the reports from the 7th out of OI were no yft, but they did find the BFT's. Not as good of eatin but fun to tie in to.
If you head down the shelf and get up on some rocks they have been holding some nice blackfin, just as good as YFT in my opinion. They are being caught jigging, fun but exspensive until you find out what depth the blacks and bonita are holding and where the sharks and jacks is not where you want to be.
were looking to go down in march or april will they be there then???

Got a report tonight that someone brought home yf in the Morehead / Atlantic Beach area. No idea where they found the fish. I just know that my in-laws ate it for dinner after a buddy of theirs caught it last weekend. That is super-early but with this crazy weather, it does not surprise me.

Well, they should be out there, but not much fishin activity.
In years past, I have had good action for the yellowfins in early spring, Feb and March.
April is usually our best yellowfin month.
we have had really good blackfin action on the jigs, fat ones too. If you have never eaten blackfins they are every bit as good as yellowfins and alot of hands on fun gettin jiggy with it.
We are headed to the boatyard Monday for a bit of annual maintining, but we would be glad to take you fishin.
good luck,
Jay
