The Year

Well it was a slower year than usual. Great people though made up for the relatively slow fishing... Possibly the best groups I have ever had... I want to thank them all from the bottom of my heart and hope to see most of them again in this upcomming year.
In 172 trips we managed:
104 sailfish
14 blue marlin
20 white marlin
18 swordfish
16 mako
1 thresher

Past that we had only a couple dozen tuna but over 400 dolphin, and about 1000 each bottom fish and mixed neeters/macks. Nothing earth shattering. I'm hoping that the later kick to the saiils means that they will stay longer this season and we can run up some numbers. Then I look forward to our Chub cay run where its realistic to look for 100 billfish that trip alone... I also hope to improve drastically our hook up ratio in the canyons this year. It has been bad for three years running and I will do what I must to turn that around... Again thank all of you who did fish with me this year for making it a truly memorable one...

and i for one was extremely happy to be part of that total, and glad it wasn't the shark part. you forgot the mystery fish

I'm about to see if I can super slam. Gonna inside troll long enough to find a sail then point to the deep deep and plop out the big stuff and then I'm gonna catch a fat swordie just for grins...
