If its not worth fighting for now, then when will it be? Timing is never perfect. You mean to tell me that 50K people sending the same letter to their congressman would have more of an impact than 50K people united at the same time standing in DC, standing side by side together? I think not!

As a community, we have all, in varying degrees invested time, money and passion in this sport. And our access to fishing is being taken away, whether for surfcasters on the beach or those who fish by boat.

To the Recs, boat and surf, consider your own personal investment in this sport for a moment. The money you have spent on gear, bait, tackle, boats, rods, reels, lures on learning. I am sure it amounts to a considerable sum.

The total economic output of saltwater fishing on the economy is 125 Billion a Year! That is no mistake. Retail sales alone account for 45 Billion per Year.

For the charter captains, B&T Shops, Fishing Publications & Websites who rely on this sport for their livelihood, or as a second income.....WTF are you doing? Seriously! Where is your involvement? Your apathy astounds me!

You all post fishing reports with videos and pictures during the season and spend money on advertising....for what? What the heck is the point?

You run a business. Do you not want to fight to keep it?

If bad science dictates that next season Fluke/Bass/Blackfish/YFT/BFT, whatever fishing is closed, or the season is cut again in half, or the bag limit is cut in half again, or beach access is further restricted, or their is a new MPA from the Baltimore Canyon to Atlantis... or whatever the managers come up with....WHAT will be the economic impact on your business? How much money are we talking about? How much do you stand to lose?

The objective of this whole rally is to fight for flexibility in the MSA and have congress/senate put the bill down to the floor for a vote.

Well F 17 your post has been up for more than one hour with no responses. The apparent apathy among SFC members is unbelievable. I will be there with my crew on Feb 24th along with a hand full of others on here that said they were going.

I think people are jaded anymore about this govt. Unless your in the million man march, roe vs wade, or going to see barack get inaugerated people just give up anymore. If you do go down however........go to the Willard for a drink, Ocean Aire for dinner and let offshore eddie drive home. I hear ya but its a stiff south west breeze blowing that drowns out all voices. I do believe the sails are already up, defeat is inevitable, its time to just go fishing and ignore the law.
