WMO - "Save Fuel: Important Rule Change"

Great.....now I have to get up an hour-and-a-half earlier.

In order to help boats conserve fuel, the White Marlin Open has amended General Rule I D. Boats may now pass the sea buoy at the Ocean City Inlet, Indian River Inlet, and Cape May Inlet no earlier than 3:30 a.m. instead of 5:00 a.m. Allowing boats to run at a slower, more economical speed to reach their fishing destinations can reduce fuel consumption up to 1/3, thus saving money. All other tournament rules regarding fishing times remain the same.

You mean 400 boats doing 40 knots through six footers with zero visibility wasn't safe???

maybe the tournament will include in this years guest bag a tin cup....

so that when tourists are walking around the docks they can make a contribution to the "poor fisherman" trying to apply their trade during tough working and economic conditions.

Good now the big sport boats can tear a$$ through the inshore bluefin grounds early so they don't shut down the a.m. bite.

Question Guess I'm confused again

If they want to give you the opportunity to leave early and conserve on fuel, Why is that a bad thing ? arent we all bitchin about fuel costs ? do we not all know that running slower saves fuel ? Is the line in time the same ?
If you dont want to get up early, RUN, BURN BABY BURN.
FIND A PLACE TO BITCH AND STAY THERE. Dont complain about fuel and bitch when someone tries to help out.
