Yup, even after taking second place white this year we still haven't broken even when you figure in the past 15 years. And that includes the 1st place hoo one year and only going in up to the D calcutta each year! This makes it all worth it though

2002 and it was 80 pounds even. My mom caught it (on the good old 29 Topaz). Remember it like yesterday, hit a black and red witch/hoo 25 feet down on the downrigger with a wire leader in 200 fathoms just north of the Washington and left a blister the size of a grape on my thumb on the first run trying to get the rod to the chair. You place anywhere in that tourny and I guarantee you'll never forget one second of it.

The neices and nephews have grown but my sisters told me that when their teachers asked them what the highlight of their summer was they all replied, "When my Uncle Lance won the White Marlin Open."
