I am pretty sure that the WMO rules spell out that roundscales and hatchets count as whites for the tourney

That's pretty interesting, maybe they should change the tourney name to "Anything but Blue Marlin Open"![]()
Roundscale spearfish or hatchet marlin as many refer to them , count as white in all 3 of the big tourneys in the mid atlantic. I think because they are hard to tell apart they are very similar. I won a tourney with one in 07.
