Thank you Andy! I have always believed that the simpler you make things the better you do. Some people can make the simplest things hard just so you think that they really know more than you do. If a simple knot will get the job done, why use a more complicated knot. I use a hand full of very simple knots that will get you by on any applictaion that you could ever need no matter what species of saltwater fish you are fishing for. Whether it is redfish or bluefin tuna!

On another note if we were to make up cable based sharking leaders how you you recomment preping the wire end before inserting it in the spectra?

I would just make sure that it was cut off clean with no burrs and here is where I would use a needle kit to run the wire up inside the braid. That way there would be no way for the strands to snag on the braid. Then i wuld finish it the same way that I normally do.
