July 5th we started at the tip of the Wilmington and had a tuna bite and caught a small Mahi in the first 10 minutes or so. We worked our way down the east wall to the notch where we had a sneaky white bastard take a few swipes at the right short rigger but never even nocked it out of the clip. We worked up and down the east wall in puke green 75 degree water untill 12:30 with only a few more Mahi bites and then picked all the crap up and ran inside to find a bluefin. We started in 30 fathoms about 10 miles north of the Trunk and by the end of the day we had worked down to the south end of the Trunk with only 1 20LB Mahi to show for it. On the north tip of the trunk I saw a pile of tuna on the screen but we worked them for a half hour or so and never got a bite.
