    White Marlin Rod

There are a few good blank/ rod choices for the white Marlin fishing.
A calstar 700M is the most popular blanks used.
These are 7' rods and rated for 20-50# line and fish very well in that range.
These are very popular for Dink rods.

The blanks are sometimes cut slightly shorter.
A slick butt is usually used, and reelseats are a personal preferance.
    The fuji are generally fine.

There are a few different guide setups that work well with them.
    Most use standard Fuji guides.
The Titanium frame guides are nice, but add to the price.

When looking for new top end Dink Rods for Whit Marlin fishing.
    Keep these in mind

    you wont be dissapointed.

Yep. Thats one option, but there are many recipes that make a successful white marlin setup. Some like the slicks, but others like unibutts because they last longer, are more visually appealing and serve as a comfortable rear grip that requires no maintenance and will never break free under stress. Some people go with the slicks to save money, but today, there are unibutts that are almost the same price which makes the rods more economical.
Swell, that would be the GF series. The GF is a fast action and the GFX is a moderate action.

This set was built for a White Marlin team out of OC. Also in this set is the AE Kite rod

Here's the Winthrop Tool Kite Top. Top knotch and these rods also serve well as teaser rods.

    Nemo,
Yep, but thats what the guy wanted. The customer is always right. The blank that he used for those rods was the fsu56h but I also use the GF700L, ML, or M. For dedicated WM rods, the keys are sensitive tip and light weight. Some like roller stripper and tip, but most don't. This customer bought them as all around rods. So, they had to handle White Marlin (which they did, catching 17 this summer), yellowfin and bluefin. It was hs first year offshore and now that he has fished them, he has ordered 10 more a little lighter.
