White marlin fishing....How did we loose a hooked fish?

Ok, first of all Franky you are not allowed to guess here!!! , I think you know the answer.. So here we go.

In August this year the white marlin bite was off the wall in OCMD! Went out "Marlin hunting" with Capt Joe and mate Chris on the MoJo and an friend Brent and Coleen fron Sunset. Set the lines out and withen 15 min a white comes up an the port flat line and yes I am up. Got my first white!! . Second fish comes up and Colleen get's the rod and YES her first white. But here is where it all starts. The third white gets hooked up and we loose this fish!! Now my question to all is how did we loose this fish? You all will never guess how. If someone can tell me how we lost this fish I will offer a free MoJo tee shirt... If someone answers this question correct I will finish one of the best marlin fishing stories of all time!!

Ok guys I left some things out. Not the normal way you loose a white. Spit hook ect. Think and guess outside the box! (no pun intended BOX!)

Now to finish the story . Joe hooks the fish on the bridge hands the rod down to me while Chris and Brent are clearing lines. I had the rod with a good hold on it turned to face the fish walked around the chair and the fish starts to take off head shaking and all of that. The rod starts slipping and the next thing everything went in slow motion. Rod hits the gunnel hits the fish box I was going as fast as i could missed the rod again and all was gone!! After that not a creature was stirring or saying anything. Got back to the dock Joe, before the boat stopped ran off the boat and withen five min I had a new rod and real (and a new bill)... Pretty funny..
