Indeed the 36 is pretty incredible.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) I'm just the Captain. We should have her all set up, and starting to run charters this summer.
I was feeling that it was too low, but since so many folks have adjustables, I was hoping I'd hear from someone that liked to run it low.
I had intended to pin it if I kept it there.
Moreso than the fact that a rod in the upper rocket launcher will give me as much height, I was worried that due to the low angle, that if a fish hit (what am I talking "IF" a fish hit) perhaps the clip wouldn't release.
I'm cutting it out and changing it.

Thanks again for all the responses.

Mine is about 45 degrees. It was custom made at the time I had the top made, and the advice I received was "it should not extend past the transom".

Rboats- my opinion: too low. sorry

O SEA D - Love where you've got your liferaft. Does it release itself or is it manual? I have a soft bag and would much rather have mine mounted on the t-top.

BTH- got any pics of the bamboo? Sounds interesting

The life raft is manual. Its just up there to keep it out of the way. I have it strapped down.

    O-SEA-D,
My compliments on a well fortified fishin' machine!
I dig seeing the 20' something boats fitted out to do battle!

I'm definitely going to redo the C-rigger. Might not have time before rockfish season, but before we run offshore for sure.

    Sorry Hotrod no pics.
Pretty simple to do. Got the idea from Lou. Find a piece long enough to get the height you need but with a very slow taper so it will not bend at all under pressure. Let it dry out on a flat surface as not to let it cure out in a bend. I used one of the the t-top rod holders as it's mount. Then rig it to your needs. Mine is just a piece of nylon twine with a release clip on the end mounted to a stls screw eye at the top of the bamboo. The twine comes just low enough to clip on the line when the rod is in the leaning post rod holder. Let your WWB out then while in freespool with the clicker on attach the release clip at the line when it comes out of the tip guide and up she goes. It fishes like a kite bait. My bamboo is 10' long as it sits in the t-top which is 6' off the deck. It flies up at 15' off the water and out to a location directly above the motor. Allows me to run another bait in the center spread in front of the WWB and in no man's land area between the flat and left and right side baits. When she gets bit and releases, the clip falls back to just below the t-top ready to clip in another one. Good point being is you still have hands on access to all of your reels in order to drop back if/when the clip releases and not have to reach up to the t-top to get to a reel lever and free spool it. I know its kind of caveman engineering but it works great and did not cost me a dime as I had the materials around the house.
