After reading the scientific papers which are fantastic research here's what I came away with (my interpolation for my use):

    Striped Marlin

    Primary Colors: blue-green
    Secondary Colors: violet-blue
    Retinal Colors: green

    Big Eye Tuna - Swordfish

    Primary Colors: blue-green

    Yellow Fin Tuna

    Primay Colors: violet

Extremely interesting read and certainly phenominal research. This is the paper which without question clearly affirms the physical makeup within a pelagics eye to allow these species to see color.

I don't believe that you can argue with the scientific facts supported and tested within the paper. Colors within these ranges will work and increase the visibility of lures, spreader bars, chains, teasers and skirted natural baits. Is it 100%..no..is it better than a monochromatic spread..of all bait..all lures the same color..all bars the same color..not sure..

Now look at the colors that are the highest percentages used in hunting spreads..of the survey above pretty darn close..which is great affirmation for some..perhaps an awakening for others.

DeepC hit on another point ...sound. Tournament boats producing a certain "sound" whatever that may be certainly have the ability to raise more fish than other boats. Bob Schnieder the famous lure builder was known to have boats checked for "resonance" with in a certain range..what he knew about a boats "sound" who only knows, but he certainly had a great following and had a phenominal "quiet" following for his lures and wisdom.

Scientific research..is great..proves certain things not everything..I will stay with and err on the side of a scientist and not a contrarian fishmercial.
