What's your line choice? Trolling & chunking mid-atlantic

Looking to respool my trolling reels and wondering what others are using? Historically have gone with the Ande Premium envy green but thinking of switching to Momoi blue. Looking at 40 & 60lb.

Also is the Momoi Diamond worth the extrs $$$ over the Hi Catch?

    What say ye?

Although our inshore mono is Ande, every one of our offshore reels is packed with Momoi Diamond.

This debate has floated around here before.

    I personally like Sufix Superior.

Get ready to hear alot of people endorsing braid, and/or braid backing with mono topshot.

Braid has its place for the offshore reels such as the shimano tigra 16's and the penn 16 vsx(or whatever) and the tiagra LRS series..why cause they can handle the extra drag. I think the momi has a little more stretch then regular mono. The momi diamond is a little bit stiffer I think. I liked the camo line for chunking It was a little harder then most lines, and the knots are a little tougher to tie but I felt it was a great line for chunking. Every little thing helps on the chunking grounds as far as camo goes. If you were gonna troll only I would go with the suffix hi-vis.

I have used the Momoi diamond now for 4 years. Although I have had some lines break for the most part it holds up really well. I am in the process of respooling right now and have ordered the diamond again but this time in yellow. Over the previous years I have used the blue. It looks nice on the reels but can be etremely hard to see on the bright days. I agree with Frank too the suffix is a great bang for your buck. I have used most all them and can tell you each has is good points but you need to ask yourself is losing a big fix worth saving a couple off bucks. Not in my book.

I have used Ande and Momoi for quite some time and I have found personally that Ande is using older technology in making their product--as a result more memory and less durabilty in the line. The Momoi diamond seems the all around best performer for us. We rig all our products on this and have found it to hold up well in our offshore needs. Hope this helps!

I've been using Suffix Hi-Vis for about 4 years now on all of my offshore gear. It seems to hold up fairly well and doesn't get too kinky.

I use suffix superior for trolling and chunking, berkeley big game green for bottom fishing.

I use Momoi, but not the Diamond. I don't like the memory it has, although it is very abrasion resistant...of course, I don't plan on my main line rubbing against anything!
