What's your largest fish ever caught from shore or pier???

Everones got that one that didn't get away. What is the biggest (fish) you ever pulled in, looked at and then let go??
For me I have 2 that fly off the top of my head. The first is an Ocean Sunfish of about 400lbs.
This thing kept swimming laps around the marker then back to the pier. At first we thought is was a flipper or shark. After one well placed shot with my avet I had him snagged in the back. This fish really never pulled hard and was so big it got caught between the pilings of the pier when he tried to swim thru. Over 7' in length and uglier then hell.
My next biggest catch was actually a shark caught off Long Key Bridge in the FL keys. A massive T-head of about 13-14'. I never got close to getting a measurement. Something about being slammed face first into a concrete wall and the line parting. I got pleanty of looks and feels off of that fish.

as of right now it is a 30lb bass as far as stripers go..

i did also get a 6lb fluke (in the off season of course)

i was to busy to get out and shark fish this year but nj beaches have a great shark bite in the summer time on high moon tides..

we get a good amount of threshers and duskys

I think he asked what the biggest fish you ever caught off of shore or pier. Not offshore.

I caugth a 50lb. king mackeral off of a pier in NC, and I caught a 72lb. red drum off of Nags Head,NC in the surf.

It was the end of Oct. 1996 when I caught it. I'll never forget it. I caught 4 that day over 40lbs. including the 75lb. fish. There was one caught earlier the same day even bigger. I caught it on a huge mullet chunk and when we beached it, I was at least 200 yard from where I hooked him.
