What is the furthest you have gone offshore?

The furthest we've ever gone on our boat is 110 nm, we were close to the Tom's canyon, and were killing the tuna both on the troll, and while chunking, this was one of the best days we have ever had. We lost an estimated 200lb Bigeye that spit the hook right at the boat, we made up for that with 15 other yellowfins and bigeyes though! Some good times.

My farthest run on a day trip was 137 miles from Ocean City, NJ to Norfolk Canyon. Farthest trip overall was 178 miles on a 3 day trip from Shinecock Inlet to Hydrographers Canyon. We were farther away from the inlet but 178 miles was the distance when we picked up to run home and the boat only did 19 knots.

One of the best trips I ever had was 60+ mi. south of the Vine yard.
Chunkin we caught 20-30 YFT, took home 15 had 40 lb average.
Ran out of the good hooks and used rusty bass hooks and still slamed them.
Carried gas cans. I told the guys we had to stop fishing , did'nt think I could carry any more. The boat is only 25'.

On that trip, How much fuel did you bring and how much did you burn???

On my farthest trip to date, I ran 143NM, trolled for two full days and then ran back from Veatches 120NM at 24knots and burned 222-gallons with 70-gallons of reserve in my tank.

If I remember correct that boat held 1200 gallons. It was a 54 Striker with Detroit 1292's. We did not run all the way to Hydro on the first day. We started in West Atlantis and then trolled our way to Hydro.

127 Miles straight out from Cape May in the 36 foot contender.
The whole way I just kept saying "what am I doing " To myself of course lol

Seems like a whole new ocean once you get out about 100 miles as some swell s seem to become massive.

Only reason we ventured out this far was we knew other boats were in the area. On trips when you dont see many boats out I tend to stay within 85 miles from the coast as once you get past all the squiders it seems to get very very lonely out there.
