Satan - seems like a lot of people like to carry their own VHF and GPS. Care to give us a run-down on what models you use and why ? The last handheld GPS I bought was 1996, and it's kaput now so could do with another I guess.

Seth - with you on the recorder. I use a digital one nowadays, a Panasonic with SD card, one touch button on and off and voice activeted too if you want. Do you use a piece of voice recognition computer software to transcribe to word ?

Fess - c'mon, what that damn mineral oil for ? And what do you really use those condoms for ? Shark floats ? And what are the waxed paper finger-tips for ? When the condoms run out ?

Here's another trick thing I've used over the past two years. Light is always a big issue, so torches are one of my favourite subjects.

Got one of these for my birthday in 2006. Works just fine, Keep it on a window sill when not wearing it and it always lights up just fine - a real boon for anyone that always has to have a torch on their head by sundown. It might look like a gimmick but they're not - becoming really popular in New Zealand.

    Roddy,
I was actually making reference to my Leica M8 camera. What a jewel! As for voice transcription from my digital voice recorder, yes, I use dragon software. My best ideas always come when I am driving or away from my moleskin and pen. Oh, a moleskin is a must to carry for me, as well.

Condoms were the same ones for like 10 years...how sad is that...had to change my name a few times and ditch some Jerry Springer calls though, like i tell my son...always wear....always...ALWAYS!!!!!

Waxed fingertip guards....for super glueing skirts to heads etc....it's the bomb for no fingerprints or skin left on the head. Pain to make, but sure save time and help give a pro finish.

Mineral oil...still checking you papers from NZ....looks like your cleared under some grandfather clauses on the main issues, but, again, still awaiting the OK from HQ on your full clearance. U know...the party of the first party of the second...blah, blah, blah...I'll call Josh too, if he ever posts any pics, that may help your case as well.

I bring a pair of Klein lineman pliers that can cut a 12/0 stainless hook in case somebody catches one.

Amazing how this thread got shunted recently, but then I re-read it and realised I never mentioned the best thing about the cap with the lights - it's solar-powered. That's what I was getting at when I mentioned leaving it on the windowsill. Duh....

The one thing I havent been able to leave home without recently when I go fishing is something that really isnt very usefull in terms of fishing, infact its more of a hinderance.
Still I cant go fishing without it, its called a Hunter...(my son)

Nice porae, Adam. Tell Hunter I hope it tasted as good as it should have done (as long as his dad didn't do the cooking !). I miss him running round the shop, throwing lure heads on the floor !

Hope you have a great season. Need anything ?
