you answered my question. I finally got to watch the video and that is like what I have been doing. it looks like you are basically making a dropper loop knot but not using it as a loop. I had tried doing that before but left out the first step so I was dealing with 2 tag ends which sucked and confusing. thanks for posting of the video. the simple step of the overhand knot in the begining seems to make the difference.

then practice rolling it in your hands which takes some practice. I'm pretty freakin good at the albright and the blood and can tie the albright in about 30 seconds and the blood in less than two.

Yes you are right, Freds as good as they come at the fishing game.
