    what catching down oregon inlet?

time for a vacation, just wondering whats gong on down there, tuna, mahi, are there any amberjacks on the towers yet. hows the inlet these days any better. might be towing my 34' cc down next week weather dependent, or anyone got some extra room for one. if i use my boat i would like to follow someone out one am, and set the tracks thru the inlet, just a shot in the dark here...dave

Hey Dave, There has been some yellowfin and Blackfin from the 280 line to the point, also we had some Big eyes yesterday. One boat had 8 on at one time. The Mahi should be showing up any day,we are waiting for the 78 degree water to push in on the 100 fathom line. The inlet is fine, but watch for the the channel coming from O.I. to the crack. There are a couple of shoals on both sides, Just look for the the poly balls marking the points, go right between both of them. Keep one to starboard and one to port, The crack is perfect, myself and a few captains marked it about 3 weeks ago. It is a straight shot right into the main channel. When you go through the main draw of the bridge, line yourself up with the blinking light on the south side jetty and go to the main O.I. channel. Your safe from there. Good luck. Let me know what day you are going to fish and we have a charter, you can follow me. Take it easy.

Hey Dave, I am up in Corolla, the northern most part of the Outer Banks. When you get on the island I am 20 miles north on route 12. Most of the gear I carry is for surf fishing. But I do have a freezer full of Bionic Ballyhoo, and a few islanders, crimps, and hooks. Let me know what you need. Take it easy.
