What a catch! 30 tons of croaker (picture)

Caught today, 10/16/2008, in Içara, Santa Catarina, Brazil (south of Brazil). The fishermen used a 15,000 square feet fishing net and had to ask their families, local workers and tourists for help to "land" the croakers. They put the net out 9AM and 1PM removed the fish.

I was aware fishermen down there did this to catch mullet, but had no idea about other species.

dumb ducks are probably out fighting over one fish. lol haha

i can not believe the size of those things.. i got one the other week that was like 3lbs and i thought it was a world record. lol

After posting this thread I saw a short video and people were removing the fish from the net still in the water. It was too heavy, they couldn't pull the fishing net with all the big croakers.

Shortfin, I wish! I broke my rod here in my apartment, over 2000 miles away from the huge croakers
