I've had some good luck with Cobia this time of year up in Hatteras. Haven't been up there this year so I don't know what the temps are doing. We would go out the inlet on an outgoing tide an cruise up and down the tideline with someone up top spotting. Keep two or three big spinning rods with live eels on them ready to pitch and whenever you see a cobia throw the eels at it and hope they are hungry. If you hook the eels and then lay them in a cooler it will calm them down a lot, when they hit the warm water they go crazy and it seems to trigger a strike. This has worked for us on several occasions, not sure if we just got lucky or if it is pretty consistent. I'm sure others on the site can help you more with this and other types of inshore stuff around there. Good luck!
