Westcoast Fisherman Heading To North Carolina

A friend of mine is heading to Fayetteville, NC next week for a month of fishing and some work and is clueless as to where to fish offshore. He has access to a boat around 30' and wants to target wahoo and YFT. He has years of experience fishing the North Pacific, off of Oregon, and knows how to fish and run a boat. I told him to get charts and head east looking for temperature breaks, but I'm clueless about fishing the Atlantic. Any suggestions?

I understand some YFTs are being caught out of Morehead. Your run would be shorter to fish out of there. Always a possibility of wahoos there too.

Invite some locals and you will prob he may be able to locate some fish...

Morehead City, Hatteras, and Oregon Inlet all have boats that will catch Yellowfin Tuna this time of year.

Hi Dave, it's Puffin that's heading east. I don't know what the boat he was talking about is. This time he's leaving "Puffin" in Portland...Oregon and flying to Fayetville.
