Ramp Closures as of 5-8-08
Here is an update on the closures..........

Ramp 43- Barely enough room to turn around

Ramp 44- Can't go very far

Ramp 45- The interdunal road is closed to the ramp. A least tern
has laid an egg, so a 100 meter buffer has been put
up.

***Ramp 49- is open, you can't get to the southside of the Point,
though.

Access to Hatteras Inlet is closed, too

Yep- it was really weird crossing Bonner Bridge yesterday and seeing...NOTHING. Same thing with the ferry from Ocracoke back to Hatteras. Took the boat to the inlet at Ocracoke all week and nobody on South Point. We tried to fish north end of Ocracoke from the surf, but the closure and tides make it impossible unless you go at low and really watch your backside.

And two cases of vandalism= bigger closures already.

Sad, sad...
