Welcome to SFC gang... I'm delighted to see so many new faces. Glad to have you here and wanted to give you a tour of our happy home.
I understand fully that many of you joined us during the shit storm of the century regarding the shark thing. Some just happened to join at that time by coincidence. Some followed the storm around the net and it led them here. Many came to see the different opinions we have , many came to see the video interview, some just came on over to sling some mud...

We love having new people here. It keeps things fresh. We welcome you with open arms. Let me tell you though about some ground rules here. We run with no moderators as such. We keep the house clean. By that I mean we do not tolerate bashing here. We are all fishermen and will all treat each other with respect. That respect is universal here whether a pro or a first time worm dunker.
When entering the SFC world bring with you a quick bio... Who you are, where you're from, what you like to fish for... If you have some good knowledge to share, bring it on. Got questions? There is no such thing as a dumb question so pop em up... You may be helping some other guy that was too shy to ask the question. Drive by basher tough guys will last here about as long as a live bait in a school of mahi...

The threads you saw involving the shit storm are not typical of ones you will likely see here with any regularity... Like I said bashing really isn't tollerated here but some things are just so big we gotta let em run their course and that's why they were up.
We have a world of fishing knowlegde on this site and thats our common bond. We have an arcade if you get bored, we have a zillion forums and videos to peruse through. So make yourself at home. Enjoy, don't bash, and don't be a stranger...

Well since i'm new here i'll start off. My name is Spencer i fish the spencer canyon alot on my new 60ft spencer. This is how i got my name. I love offshore fishing and i've been doing it for a few years now. I'm not the best but pretty damn good at what i do. My family owns a seafood retail and wholesale business. I'm a vol. firefighter in my home town of gibbstown. I like hunting and pretty much everything that has to do with outdoors. Anything else there Mr. Deep

I found this place about a year ago. I joined and read and post to share what I know, to share what I don't know and most importantly to become a better fisherman by learning from those who do.
In that time, I have learned to listen, to learn and to become a better fisherman from people like yourself, Marty and countless others that share a lifetime's worth of knowledge without asking anything but a little respect in return.

This entire shark thing, that has consumed this site, has not offered one bit of information to make any of us better at anything other than how to cover our respective asses.
Not too long ago, you posted a swording 101 thread, not too long ago someone, me, asked for help with a Blue marlin spread and in both cases was overwhelmed by the wealth of knowledge shared among fisherman.

Can someone, anyone show one piece of information on this shark thing that we could not find by spending an afternoon with Jerry Springer? Are we no different than the millions of people that tune into that crap every day just waiting to see,” who the real father is?"

How about a thread on sharking? You know, one that describes hooks. leaders, knots, tactics, the kind of stuff that SPORTFIHERMAN are supposed to care about.

I'd like to chat but they are about to announce who won the Celebrity Dance competition and I couldn't live with myself if I miss it...........

I don't post here that often and to tell the truth I lost the URL for the site So I guess that makes me a noob lurker, I'll try to do better.
I don't get much of a chance to fish due to the demands of my job so these reports are my way of living vicariously
