weekend from hell

well thats what it was , started on thursday, cell phone takes a dump, then an employee gets hurt, well there goes my shark tournie, sorry john. well got new phone friday eve, employee is ok, now the weather absolutly sucks. finally get down too the cape, somehow booked a charter for sunday, only to cancle it 4 am due to lightning. highlite of the weekend was running into admin, jcfood and capt kobey. bye the way this rain sucks...

I can beat that...get ready, here it goes. Had a charter on Friday so I went down to the boat on Thursday evening. First thing, a/c is not working. Go down in the engine room and work on a/c raw water pump and as I'm leaving the engine rm for something I notice the s/w washdown pump is leaking in the lazerette. I figure that should be a quick fix so I loosen the clamp and pull on the hose and bam, break the plastic fitting on the pump. Nobody open after 8pm so I am stuck w/o a washdown for Friday. Then I decide I am going to hook up the fresh water and fire up the icemaker....raw water pump is not pumping water on the icemaker....Geezus H Criminy, what next. Turns out the icemaker was just airlocked and I had that going in about 5 minutes, back to the a/c but I couldn't get it up and working. Charter shows up 1 hour late which really screws things up, head out into a pretty sporty sea...making about 19.5 knots, 3 hours to the Washington! Fish for an hour w/o a bite and my mate comes out of the salon with a freaking banana he found in one of the charter's coolers!!! Throws it overboard and I swear, while it was still in the air, the left shortrigger goes off...nice gaffer dolphin. Get covered up by tunas 10 minutes later and only end up holding one of them AND lose a freakin' spreader bar in the melee. End up only catching 2 tunas and 2 mahi on the day...can it get any worse? Yep, on the way home I lost my starboard clutch which is new...has less than 200 hours on it...so we get to the slip at 8:45pm. Come down to the boat on Sat and the Cummins man says it isn't something simple with the tranny so...have to rip out the right side of the salon and pull the floor up so they can break the gear loose from the engine. Then I decide I am going to go ahead and service my engines and find out the oil change pump is shot. Go buy a new motor and put the thing back together and what??? It runs but won't pull oil out of the base of the engine. Screwed with that thing a good part of the day today and never did get it right. Also tried to troubleshoot the a/c pump problem and it just keeps on kicking the breaker...going to have to get an electrician to look at it. So there's my weekend starting on Thursday evening...I am afraid to go to the office in the morning, God knows what will happen!
