Wedding at Adventure (Camden) Aquarium.

So my fiance and I both love the ocean and are now considering the aquarium for our wedding reception next year. I have one family member who had a reception there, but it was back in the 90's so I cannot really base it on their experience. From looking online at pictures and reviews, it is apparently supposed to be a really cool place to host an event with all of the floor to ceiling shark tanks and the backdrop of the philly skyline. Any of you guys or gals ever been to one there or have any input? It is pretty pricey at 150.00 a head, So lets hear it from anyone who has been to one. Thanks guys

I was married at the Camden Aquarium in 2001. Im sure things have changed alot since then but everything was great except for having 17 gifts stolen from the bridal room by the staff.

I have had a couple of work events there. Happy hour in the shark tube and then dinner/presentations in the room after the tube where the one wall is the tank. It was pretty cool. It was a few years ago so I am not sure what they have changed since.

Thank for those replies guys....and whitey, that is just unforgivable. What did they say when you guys approached them about it? I guess that could happen anywhere but damn.. They seem to be very well organized over there, she and I went over to the aquarium today to walk around. Again thanks.

I was married at the Camden Aquarium, but it was to a female striper in the 55# class :0)......

Good luck and make sure you take a HARD look before you leap...I'm sure your catch is worth it!

There is reason that the City of Camden is ranked #1 in crime in the country. The inside of the aquarium is nice but don't walk two blocks in any direction.
Congrats on tieing the knot. What about a lighthouse reception. My wife and I had our reception at the lighthouse at Montauk Point, NY. We were the first and only people to ever have a reception there but the reason I suggest that is becasue you usually have at least 180 degrees of water around you and even with a caterer from the Hamptons a raw bar, sushi bar, live steel drum band and a DJ we were still under 150 pp. Do some legwork, you can have a dream party at a killer location, catered for less. It's just more work. Congrats again.

Thanks!! Yeah I've gotten all the grief and ball breaking from all my still single buddies but I've always known she was that one, we met about 9 years ago in high school. She lets me Mate all season long, and supports my small construction company and big dreams, she also can back a 30 foot boat into a slip almost as well as I do so I guess i owed her the rock! Haha thanks again, awesome idea with the lighthouse, I would love to see pictures from that, sounds incredible. I am glad we still have until may 2011, its the first thing on her mind and I just run from all the planning, so overwhelming. Thanks for taking part in the post, I know its off topic, but i hoped the Ocean/fish theme tied it all in haha!
