    WATER DAMAGE report 5/19 & 5/20

Great couple of days on the water this weekend.

Picked up a group of soldiers for Military Appreciation Day at USCG Fort Macon about 5 am Saturday - 1 Army and 2 Air Force. Nice ride out and lines in before 7. Stopped just inshore of the 90 and had a hit on second line in. Picked away at'em most of the day, lot of short strikes but all in all a good day. Lots of smiles from guys who have never been out there before and never even seen a mahi. Total for the day was 12 mahi (2 just over 30#), 2 AJ and a 25# or so grouper that jumped on my planer rod.

    SUNDAY 5/20

Left the dock at 5:30 or so on Sunday. Quite a bit nastier than expected but still plenty fishable. Lines in just offshore of the 90, worked the 302 and out to the Big Rock. Picked away most of the morning and then it finally turned on for us. Last couple of times thru'em we had 3 and 4 on at a time. We had a HUGE bull take a monster marlin lure and pull a bunch of line, got him all the way to the boat and as soon as we touched the leader he made a small circle and the hook fell right out - it was a solid 40-50# fish! Total for the day was 20 mahi and 1 king, plus a ton of bite offs. Quit a bit early as the 2 anglers we had aboard were beat, back at the dock by 4!
