WATCH SUPERBARS & SPIDERS RUN!
Wow! That new video section of very, very cool!
If you don't use them, but are curious about how SuperBars and Spider Dredges run, just click on "Videos" up top and when you get there, type in "Superbars" and let us take you as a guest aboard one of our boats so you can see new technology in action. This video is exactly like what the bars and Spiders will do on your boat. You already know what the bars and dredges you use do and don't do. Here's a chance to compare without spending a dime. Some important specs that many curious and open-minded folks will want to know: All bars and Spiders here are rigged for everything, up to and including marlin and big tunas. Weight of each lure being run, including chasebaits... Meatball SuperBar, .29 oz. 15, 4.25" teasers, 6" chasebait ProBar, .5 oz. 11, 8.5" ProSquid teasers, ProSquid chasebait Little Spider Dredge, .45 oz. (without sinker), 15, 4.24" teasers, 6" chasebait....and THIS dredge only costs $75 and can be fished off of any size boat! Little RuckusRaiser, .5 oz. 15, 6" teasers, 6" chasebait. Note how, even when flatline clipped down. SuperBars stay up and out of the water. Note that at high speeds, there is no tacoing, bending, kinking, porpoising whatsoever. Finally, notice how light and easy-handling everything is and remember, we unconditionally guarantee SuperBars against breakage (the bars themselves only) for the life of the owner - and in more than fifteen years, we've never had to replace one. Okay, there are the specs. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. I sure agree and the video section of this great site sure proves it. I hope that you will take a look. Next up, WahooBars! Haulin' ass and takin' names! And shortly thereafter, underwater shots by our Black Dog Video Production diver, Cappy AJ. Hoo, baby, wait'll you see THOSE! |

If a picture is woth 1,000 words then that video is priceless. Very cool to see Fred. One question I have for you is how slow can you run your gear and still have it look good? Folks up here tend to troll on the slower side of things.
By the way, I have attached it here so folks don't have to go chasing it. Shoe |

Oh boy,
I guess the secret weapons have finally been let out the bag. I was hoping the folks here would take forever to catch on what you've been saying, Fred. Oh well, guess I'll have to become a rep for you, .Seriously folks, I've used Fred's bars for over 12 years - and no matter what anyone else gives me to run, it never gets a look in when it's time for tunas to belly up to the bar ! These things are the simplest and most effective way to put a bait ball behind the boat ! Honest to God. |

I think Fred deliberately had them run in cold, green water so the filming would be uninterrupted.

Hey Roddy.....
Quote:
![]() Actually the filming is normally done outside Dana Point Harbor in So. Cal this past winter/spring when the closest Tuna is about 300 Miles to the south in Mexico working their way up here! Just got word that the Excel Long Range boat out of San Diego is picking up Albies and BFT about 150 Miles South of S.D. so probably about 4-6 weeks and the game will be on.. Cheers, JW |

Roddy. Ha-ha-ha! You had your time in the sun with your dirty little secret! And you can be the SuperBar rep if I can be the slippy, slidey, fishies can't get a hold of 'n it slide outta their mouthies and the hook sticks the heck out of them Pro Range lures of yours. Deal? Let's burn down the barn!
Seriously, though, a true big game fishing legend like Captain Hays saying good things about SuperBars is an honor and a privilege that I am both grateful for and proud of. That kind of thing can't be paid for or faked. The man has a wonderful reputation that I know he wouldn't jeapardize for anything or anybody. And he has a mind-bender of a chapter in my new marlin book. Thank you Captain Roddy. Fishin' and Wishin' Ha! If you were a spreaderbar you would be totally turned on by that raw sexual footage in there. Hell, man, you should see the PM's I am getting from bars all over the world (blush!) Green 74. What Roddy said. Now that Black Dog Video Productions is rocking (literally), we are going to be showing you some absolutely stunning fish-catching videos, including some incredible stuff shot by our all-pro diver, AJ, some of which is shot underwater, just behind and IN the pattern, taken from a diver's planer with him aboard and driving it and shooting vid. it is going to blow your mind! But right now we felt that there are a lot of folks out there who have never seen SuperBars and Spiders do their thing and we wanted to have anyone interested in seeing that "come aboard as our guests and see it for themselves". (Shoefish...thank you for putting it up here.) And you know, Green, if you can't tell what these babies do to the fish when you get them around them, well, maybe you need to climb back up into the back of that turnip truck (said in the same fun spirit as your post - I think.) Tabasco...Yes, not only is that Spider Dredge running like that with just an 8 oz. sinker, I am actually lifting the rod to get it to come up so that it could be seen more easily. At only 1/2 ounce, they also run great off of downriggers and planers. We have made them affordable too, so that now small boat AND big boat guys can run dredges without having a Peterbuilt aboard to handle them and retrieve them and a pocket lined with gold to afford them. There are five different sizes with 43 models to choose from to fit every kind of fishing application from inshore stripers, to offshore marlin and (shudder!) wahoo. That last one is especially important when it comes to how effective they are off of downriggers in these days of high fuel costs and "you need to slow down to save fuel money" facts of life. Shoe... They troll great at ALL speeds, including slow ones. It is absolutely an aerodyamics and materials thing that is proprietary and so I will not get into details. The hard part on spreaderbar speed is the high end, not the low, except for the bar going into the water, which we are very much against. Hopefully you can tell by how those flat lined down bars stay up and out of the water what they do at slower speeds and of course, we will be showing you that soon. Fact is, one of my favorite ways of fishing small bars on calm days with spread out, spooky fish (can you spell "bluefin?") is way back there at only 4-6 knots off my long riggers. Here too, the bars stay out of the water and they just slay those little bait eating, way back there fish. I hope I've answered any questions. Every picture tells a story, don't it? |
