    Wahoo & Mahi Permit?

Can anyone send me in the right direction to find information on the Federal permit required to fish for wahoo & mahi? I have checked the NMFS Web site and NMFSPermits.com and there is nothing there. I am headed down south in a couple weeks and hold an HMS charter/headboat permit. We will be fishing strictly recreationally for wahoo, mahi and everything else we can find. I have never heard of the wahoo permit. Thanks for any help.

I believe the permit you are thinking of is a commercial permit.

If you are charter fishing you need the linked application for this permit. I just renewed mine and man the paperwork they ask for this year sucks.

If you're fishing strictly recreational, the permit doesn't apply. It is only for commercial and charter headboats.
