    Wachapreague Fishing report from weekend

Great weekend out of Wachapreague this past weekend. We are a small fishing town. Almost every boat that went out had a white marlin and dolphin flag flyin'. One blue marlin was released. The angler was a 10 year old girl ! They are a billfishing family.
Charter LYN B released a sailfish at the crouch.
The charter HOBO brought to the docks a world class Mahi! 52lbs!!!
Around the 30 line many 25 to 30 lb yellowfin were caught.
All the wrecks are producing flounder , seabass and tog.
Inside the beaches flounder, croaker, kingfish, blues and some trout. Bull sharks are easily caught live lining croakers or spot. Our biggest bait was a 16" croaker and they devoured it ! We caught them up to 59" this past weekend.
    Tight lines!

It's killing me not being down much this year, 2 times for flounder. By this time last year I had been off shore 4 or 5 times and fished for flounder at least 20 days. Too much traveling for work and my buddy I fish off shore with did not bring his boat around this year, not enough work for him. I hope to get down a few more trips befour I have to close my place up for the winter.

    flounder and shark bite

Flounder have been hitting steady. Some guys have been finding holes full of keepers and limiting out.Others have been drifting the inlet and around the islands finding a few keepers here and there. We took out 7 of my nieces and nephews for shark. We set up at green and drawing channel in about 18' of water before the flats. I was shocked by the size and steady action of the sharks. We would no sooner get one in then another one would be on. My family is thinking twice about swimming there!

Is Ray Parker still running the HOBO? I fished with him many years ago on the SEA BIRD.
