Good stuff Fred. Glad to hear from you. I was getting a little worried
Should be good for some suprise aerials.
I know sometimes the makos like to hit hard from below.
As a fellow shark fisherman I can say blues are like catching dogs with a bone on a string.
To catch and release a Mako is a lot of fun.

I hope you guys have checked out buying Fred's great book "The Grim Reaper"
Aside from making fred smile, it will make you a better Mako fisherman.

Capt. Fred - glad to see that you are back to your posting ways. Hope that the folks take your advice seriously and use the teasers when the blue dogs are around.

We landed a 150 male mako on 7/7/07 and then fought and released a 350-400 pound female thresher while chumming in about 30 minutes on stand-up. Guess what the mako hit first? The teaser line next to the boat. Guess what pitch bait he chomped on? A small bluefish fillet pitch bait.

Thanks Fred for all the books and insight over the years. After setting a state record for threshers (588 pounds) and winning several tournaments using a lot of your tactics, I can easily attest that you speak the words of wisdom.

Your superbars with petro colored 9 inch squid last year were also killer on the yellowfin in the Hudson.

    Keep on writing.
