    Cool Variety at Oregon Inlet

On friday we, attempted the Striped Bass runnung all the way to state line. Found thousands of birds up there but no stripers.

Ran back towards OI and finally scored a 36 # striper on a R/W stretch 30 blind trolling around the monument.

One of our buddies was schooling us a caught a few more nice class fish.

Saturday we went offshore and found some 72 degree water south of Hatteras. Got into some false albacore and blackfins mixed on the troll.

Then we Jigged the blackfins with butterfly jigs. That resulted a a mix of albies, blackfins, and ole amberjack. The jigging was a blast on light tackle but we did loose one tuna to a shark.

We dropped for a few tiles and made our way home.

Great Feb trip!! And warm once in the stream!

The next bite on a jig.
Any particular color that was hot on the jig?

    Thanks

Nice work, I was out with bill and crew on the reel fancy.
    handful of blackfin, FA's, AJ's and a 250# shark.
WE also stumbled on a huge school of red drum on the way out and played with them for a while. Big class of Drum...

BTW: I'm right up the road from you in Vienna.

We had the best luck with the heavier jigs over 300 grams

Nice report, I love variety trips, you never know whats coming up when you jig. I am hearing more and more about offshore red drum. Do most of them make it when released?

We had a tuna chewed off by a shark and had two hammerheads hanging around for more free lunches!

Hey Dave- thought you'd be in mexico. Big wave has a "aj" to cook up. Yummm. I took the tuna, tiles, and rock home
