    Thumbs up vacation/fishing report; MEXICO

This past week the wife and I jumped on a cruise ship and went on our 2nd honeymoon. We left Los Angelas on the Diamond Princess and headed south.

First stop was Puerta Vallerta. Did some site seeing and some shopping.

The wife and I in Puerta Vallerta.

Second stop was Mazatlan. We took the Sportfishing excursion. On the way out I told the wife she could go first and I woud go 2nd. First fish that hit was a Bonita that was about 26-27" long she fought the fish and got it in. Fish was released. Then it was my turn. We trolled for another 2 hours with nothing and then finally the captain spotted a Marlin working the surface. Trolled around it for like 5 minutes and the fish wasn't interested. not more than a 1/2 mile further we spotted another one. Trolled around it and got hooked up... I fought the fish and after about a 1/2 dozen jumps and a 1/2 hour long fight we boated my FIRST MARLIN ever. We snapped some quick pictures and sent it back to swim another day. It was a Striped Marlin. They estimated it to weigh about 140 pounds and from the tip of the bill to the fork in the tail was roughly 9 feet.

Thrid and final stop was Cabo San Lucas. Awesome Awesome place!!! We did some site seeing and shopping here as well.

Notice the big battle wagon in this picture. It will give you an idea of how big those rocks are.

The boat leaves the harbor in front of you turns the corner and runs up the beach maybe 40 minutes.. the fishing groundsare about 20 miles off the beach at what is caled "Golden Gate" I fished two days there in November & we went 6-9 on Stripes....
