    28-oz on the thinner braid and 32-oz on the heavier stuff. Really depends on the drift speed... Have used 16-oz in 300-feet with very light drift, and needed 48-oz in 800-feet with moderate drift.

    The weight only matters on cranking it back up. You keep the line snug and you feel the bite with no problem. We fish double rigs and you feel the first hook-up, then the second one....

    SeaBiscuit I know its a little north of you but out of OI just inshore of the tuna hole we caught good numbers of nice sea bass 3-5lbs in 180'-220'. It was early spring on a few different trips. Few tiles and dogs but mainly BSB.
