    using birds

    Does anyone ever use birds when fishing for kings? What about other stuff. We have never used birds but just bought some and look forward to messing with them this summer.

    I've tried them in front of large clarkspoons for kings and never had much success. I've used them in front of ballyhoo and caught everything but kings. Just my expirience,but hasn't been too good for me.

    BIRDS

    HI:
    I use birds just about all the time. I make and sell my own. Maybe thats why my birds work on Macks.
    I use two lines. Both with birds in front of the baits. Each bait has three(3) T'ZERS in front of of the hookbait.
    Now if that Mack is just banging the lure/bait with out beeing hookup, MOVE the OTHER Bird,Bait combo up and EVEN with the first BIRD Bait/lure combo.
    Time and Time again, I've had those fish pounding my birds(TURBO TAILS). I just bring that other bird combo even with eth first. I ALWAY HAVE MIRD/BAIT/LURE combos STAGGERED. I found that that system works the best for me.
    Check out my site to see how the birds are made.

    I've never had a king using birds either. Just tuna, dolphin and marlin. Slow trolled live baits work best for me. This morning I was back at the harbor an hour after leaving. Macks were biting just outside the harbor and I took a 11 and 18 lb . Nice start to the day!

    Our kings have slightly different color that the US ones. Heres a photo of a customer, Johhny from Sweden, with one 2 weeks ago.

    Im in jersey but i use them up here, more so inshore for bonita, tuna, mahi, i like to put a green machine daisy chain with 7in green bird infront. It never does me dirty!
    Recreational mariners tend to avoid big water, but competitive anglers live in it.
