    Update...

    Okay- just got a phone call from a close friend - His two boys are running the 47' Viking "DeaBaitable" north from Pirates cove on the outside...just left this am... USCG just called him to say there is a beacon signal from the EPERB! Boys are not answering cell # and no Distress on the VHF.. anyone have any info would help calm some major nerves!!

    Update - USCG Elizabeth City is 40 minutes from flight time.. no news - one cell phone rings one goes to VM... anyone see or hear anything.. sounds like weather is not terrible but major motor work just done so who knows....

    Helo over the boat

    USCG just contacted us -"they have found the boat" unable to make contact... God this sucks! Hopefull they are okay.. will post once we know.

    All we know is they located & had visual, there is no contact yet, Thinking maybe lightning strike? will let you know.. unsure of status but USCG reported the boat is located.. so as soon as I know...

    Hopefully a low battery set off the EPIRB, same thing gave some fishing buddies a scare when the CG was hovering overhead while they were snagging bottom dwellers.

    no news is...

    Well last I heard is the boat was located & communications where in process.. have not heard anything further so I will make to assumption all is well..if anyone is interested I will post the final outcome, but for now looks like all is well! Thanks for the Kind words.. as my wife put it.. try to sit there and do nothing when something like this happens..she would be lost!!
    Couple things I have just agreed to... A PLB will be purchased - A SAT phone as well and float plans are a must!! Big thanks to all who serve! USCG rocks!!
