The fish gods have definately been looking down on us lately. We left the inlet monday afternoon with Paul from JPR Rods in 15-20 knot winds and 3-5 seas after they called for lite and varible. We decided to keep going after talking to guys on there way in, because they told us it was nicer past 30 off. got to the bombs at about 6:30pm and trolled the west wall with only a mahi to show for it. The night bite was non-exsistent with nothing coming in our slick at all. We were the only boat at the 150-0-50 area besides two commerical boats. Up on the troll in the morning we started to pick fish and by 8:00am we were 4 for 7 on tuna which was plenty for us and we started tile and mahi fishing. We were back at the dock by 2pm with:
4 tuna
6 mahi
28 tiles
1 trigger
once again the Venture Kept us from getting Beat up and JPR's rods are incredible...... i think that the alutecnos 30wides were over kill i cant wait to try the new gorilla's loaded with braid love how smooth the drags are.
Also Here is what the sounder looked like when the tuna were hitting....
