    tyrnos?

Does anybody use the shimano tyrnos? Can you give me any info on likes/dislikes about them? I would want to use them for tuna fishing.

I have been very happy with mine. I use it for Tile fishing and makes quick work of 600 to 800 feet of water.

We also used them last summer for tuna chunking at night and I put a whoppin on 60 to 80 lb yellow fin with it.

I am starting to see more and more on guys white marlin setups as well as I walk the docks.

tyrnos 20's 30lb suffix they are awesome night and day over the tld 20-25's. They have a more consistent drag than the tld's just better all around.

I use the Tyrnos 30 spooled with 40lb for white marlin and tuna fishing and have had no problems with them. The only thing I don't like is the way they have the clicker buttons recessed into the side plate. Sometimes the button is hard to switch if your hands are wet.

    Yup. Great reels.
One would think that one of you machine shop gurus would fabricate a better clicker button as an easy replacement. Even just a little bigger button would be good. Now some really smart guy would fabricate a new port side plate with a clicker lever like a Tiagra--- I know I'd pay.

I dunno, but I caught an estimated 500lb Black Marlin on a 30 this spring. They should be nice and sporty for Yellowfin and smaller Bluefin.

Whitey is correct that the clicker is set back some and they need to stick it out alittle more.

Yellowfin like I said in the 60 to 80 lb class we had no problem with it. Our tilefish we landed last your were average 30 to 50 lbs with no problem at all. I have not used it bluefin fishing yet but will in the next week or so and let you know my results.
